Replacing hyphens with en-dashes in citation ranges

In EndNote 21, numbers in citation ranges are separated by a hyphen. The publishing norm is to use an en-dash. I suggest adding the option to use en-dashes instead of hyphens for number ranges in citations.
I know this was mentioned before in the community, but no change seems to have occured since the first mention of this problem. As far as I know, the only workaround is to replace the punctuation signs after disconnecting the EndNote fields. This workaround is tedious because it requires being careful not to replace other hyphens in the document.

I guess, but as a long time user of endnote and with multiple publications - I have never had a publisher ask for me to replace my dashes in a submitted manuscript though. They have the tools to make this change in their inhouse editorial software, I assume.

Still, implementing this feature should make the copyeditors’ work easier.
It should also help authors who do not intend to publish their work in a journal or book, e.g., those writing essays for school.
