Unknown error while trying to cite while you write in Word 2011 Mac and Endnote X9

Dear all,

when I try to insert a citation in a word 2011 document on Mac OS Mojave (10.14.6) I only get the message “AnuUnknown error occurred” (screenshot attached). I use Endnote X9. I made sure I use Endnote, not Endnote online in preferences-> applications.

Unfortunately, I cannot update Word, as this is my companies laptop.

I’d be grateful for any help.

It’s pretty much any random error. You should try uninstalling then installing again. It will surely solve the problem. Endnote for PC is one of the best software. You can read at  here.
