i got a problem with text being converted to a citation automatically.
When I type (NEB) into my word document it is converted to a citation after citations being updated.
How can i change this? I alway put citations manually - no need to autoconvert…

at some point you may have changed your “temporary citation delimiters” to plain parentheses. They need to be a unique combination - usually curly or square brackets.
This can be changed in the preferences (see attached, 2nd image) or on the “fly” in the edit bibliography menu dialogue (see first image) in word. Whether you do your citations manually or automatically, these settings apply.
