Issue with Inserting Citations in Word

Using Endnote X7 & Word 2010.

While writing a message prompt appeared (that I quickly accepted) that stated something about converting formating. 

Since then, on certain pages when I try to insert a citation, the wrong citation appears. It’s very odd that this only happens on certain pages in the word document. An important note, if I turned auto-formatting off, the citation inserted is correct. If I turn auto-formatting on, the citation is converted to the incorrect citation. I have already tried resetting the auto-formatting options. 

Any ideas on how to correct?

Sounds like a corruption.  Have you tried cleaning up field codes when it is in the temporary citation (curly brackets) unformatted state?  (do on a copy).
