My colleagues and I work with Word documents with track changes turned on. One person who just upgraded to EndNote X7.7 said that now when he attempts to update the citations and bibliography in a Word doc with track changes on, a message of “Command Failed” appears and the references don’t update.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Hello Stephanie,
If before you try to use the EndNote commands in Word you set the Track Changes setting on the Review tab from “Final Showing Markup” to “Final” or “Original” instead then EndNote commands should function without giving the command failed message.
Well that is a pain in the rear? Endnote used to do this (and hence user complaints that it didn’t switch it back afterwards).
