using pages instead of record number in temporary citations?

There is an option to have EndNote use page numbers instead of record numbers when it creates temporary citations. I’m considering this as a way to make a file containing temporary citations more portable among people who have different EndNote libraries. I realize that every once in a while, there could theoretically be two articles with the same first author, date, and page numbers, and I also realize that record numbers will be inserted if there are no page numbers given in the entry, but those seem like fairly minor concerns.

My question is, has anyone used this approach, and if so, how well or badly did it work? I think I’m going to give it a try, but would welcome any advice.
