Word count without Endnote references

Hi,

I really need to count the number of words in my Word document (Microsoft Office 2007) WITHOUT the endnote in-text citations.

Is there any way to do this??

Thank you

I guess what I would do, is to create a format which doesn’t insert any citations, select the manuscript without the bibliography and do a word count.

Thank you.

That is a good idea. But I was hoping there was an easier way, so I can do it quick and easy…

Choose the reference style Chicago and in-text references will be invisible to word count.

Don’t worry, in-text references are not lost.

The easy way is to
a) change all the footnotes to endnotes (a toggle in Word)
b) highlight the endnotes, and see the wordcount on the highlighted portion.
c) subtract that number from the full word count.
