This problem applies equally to EndNote versions X4 and X4.02 and Windows versions 7 and 7 SP1.
It seems every (or almost every) time I have EndNote running and wake my computer from sleep, I need to forcefully shut down EnNote due to a dialog box stating that the library appears “damaged.” Simply clicking to get rid of the dialog box immediately opens it again, so there is no way the program can be closed properly. I need to open the task manager and shut down the application. Every time.
With the 4.0.2 update and the Win 7 SP1 I hoped this problem would go away, but it didn’t. It is exactly the same - if I go to sleep mode and then wake my computer, I usually will have to forcefully shut down and restart EndNote to use it.
Any thoughts on what might be causing this - and how to solve it? It is getting quite annoying.
FYI, I’m on a Win 7 Home Premium SP1 X64 and am using EndNote X4.0.2 build 5149.
