I inserted multiple citations in a sentence, but I have been unable to get the citations arranged in-text with the earlier citations coming first. I have tried using the "edit and manage citations and also tried to edit the sort order in the edit citation section.
I would appreciate any suggestions for overcoming this problem.

I am using APA 7th edition output style. I chose the citation sort order of author + year, but did not change and save the new output style.
I have followed your directions and gotten the citation arrangement I would like.
