cannot edit reference fields in Endnote Basic

I noticed an incorrectly formatted reference today so tried to edit it.  I click on the title of the reference, but cannot then click on any of the fields to open the boxes to allow the edit.  This is a windows 8 laptop using internet explorer.  I tried creating a new manual reference and the fields work fine then, but when I subsequently accessed the same reference, I could not open any of the fields to edit them.  Any advice??

Try changing your web browser. I have the same problem with chrome. I try with Internet Explorer and no problem, I can modify the fields. 

I’m using windows 7.

Try to use other browser like Firefox or chrome. Sometimes IE didn’t function well.
