Cannot save changes to edited citation styles

Hi

I am using Word 2007 with EndNote version 1.

I need to edit the citation style so that I can remove the brackets (I have worked out how to do this through a previous post via style manager). But when I go to save the change it does not appear to save it. If I try to save by going to File and ‘save as’ under the same name it still appears not to save the change. If I then try and save under a different name an error message appears and says i don’t have permission to save in this location.

Can anyone help me. Proving a real problem in successfully writing my thesis.
