Can't merge two reference sets into one

hello,

I have been working on two different word documents, which I know want to merge into one. The references remain separated and the update citations function does not solve this problem? The library is the same.

Can any one help me?

Have you tried working in this order:  1) unformat the citations, 2) merge the two documents, then 3) format the bibliography/citations?
