Can't move from Word to EndNote and back again

I’ve just upgraded from EndNote X1 to EndNote X2.0.1 (using Mac OSX 10.4.11 and Word 2004). Even though I can see the Word tool bar and the EndNote X2 menu in Word, I can’t get to my EndNote library from Word - clicking on “Go to EndNote”, or the “magnifying glass” or the EN button doesn’t work. Similarly when I’m in my EndNote library the “Go to Word” button and the “Insert Citation button” are greyed out.

My first suggestion would be to take a look at http://endnote.com/support/faqs/CWYW/faq11.asp.  Does any of that information help?  You may also consider uninstalling and reinstalling the tools using the Customizer in the EndNote X2 menu in EndNote.

Dear MikeV

I’ve tried both your suggestions - neither makes any difference. I notice Brent11 has had the same problem - he has devised a way around it but it is complicated. Is there a simpler solution? I teach EndNote in an academic library; some of my students have been reporting similar problems.
