I am pretty new to EndNote an getting rather frustrated with referencing agencies such as the CDC. I figured out how to get in the Reference okay, but when I insert the reference into my thesis, each time it puts (CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), 2010. This is fine for the first time I am referencing, but each time thereafter I only want (CDC, 2010) to show up. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks!
You could use the “Edit Citation” feature to: 1) remove the author (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), then 2) type in the abbreviated title (CDC,) in the “Prefix” box [Note: include a comma and one blank space following CDC]. Then close the edit citation display screen and your in-text citation should display the change.
To access the Edit Citation option, put your cursor on the in-text citation you want to change then select the edit citation option from the MS Word toolbar.
