Does anyone know whether there is a limited number of references that can be included in a Microsoft Office Word 2003 document using the Cite While You Write of EndNote Web?
In one of my files I suddenly got the message: “Cite While You Write could not connect to EndNote Web. This may be due to a temporary Internet or Server error. Please try again.” When I use the “Find Citation(s)” button EndNote can insert a temporary citation with {Author, Year}. However, the “Format Bibliography” function cannot be used anymore.
Interestingly, I can copy any part of the document and past it in a new file and everything works.
Hello - It may be due to a particular reference or references being cited. You mention that you can copy a portion of the document to a new one and it formats fine. If you copy the other portion to a new document, does the error continue? If so, the best way to resolve the record issue is to create a group containing the citations for the portion causing the error and test each one. I’m happy to help test if you share the group to me.
The error does not continue when I copy the other part of the document into another document. So the single refernces must be ok. I tried with the EndNote Web Support and no solution could be found. I then changed to Reference Manager Desktop version…
I have the same problem. word 7 does not recognise EN Web. I tried it every way suggested in the help pages.
When trying to download the CWYW plugin for ENWeb I get an error message. It has got sth to do with the place it wants to save the file to. I do not know how to change that place (it wants to store the .exe on G: but I do not have a drive G:).
Anyway, that was a little aside as I want to use EN Web from different computers and need all of them to connect to EN Web, different versions of word and CWYW properly. So far I got problems with every comp.
