Dear users,
I have met a problem to make a compression in EndNote X4.
When I select the “Compressed Library”, an error message is shown as below.
"Endnote cannot save or creat this file. Make sure the disk you want
to save the file on is not full, write-protected, or damaged."
I have checked as described in the above message.
I think there is no proble such like the message.
Have you ever met this problem?
This has come up occassionally. We believe the problem stems from the OS, to date only on Windows 7, and its handling of long file names. If you have a PDF attached to a record with a very long file name, this error can occur when creating the .enlx. From our testing it looks like the magic number is exceeding 102 characters for both the library name and file attachment name.
