CWYW automatically adds http://doi.org/ to DOI – resulting in duplicate text in references

Hi,

Has anyone noticed a change in how EndNote handles DOIs?
I am experiencing that CWYW automatically adds http://doi.org/ in front of the DOI, even when this text is already present in the metadata. As a result, the same string (e.g. http://doi.org/) appears twice in the reference.

This leads to unnecessarily long and sometimes incorrect references.
Is this a known issue, possibly related to a specific EndNote version or output style, and is there a recommended fix or workaround?

Thanks in advance!

The recommended fix is to just copy the bit after the last / in the string you’ve mentioned. i.e. from the β€˜10’ onwards. For example, rather than pasting https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jbusres.2019.07.039 into the doi field, you would paste 10.1016/j.jbusres.2019.07.039 and let endnote append the https://doi.org/ automatically

The prefix is added in the output style you are using. Either edit the output style to remove the text infront of the fieldname (if you don’t want to edit all your records) or edit all your records to remove that text.
