Hi
I am having trouble in formatting the references. Up to this point I’ve used endnote for all my references (APA system) and in displays correctly…(Author, Year), and then the name of article appears etc. appears in the reference section of my document. However, today all went wrong and I cant add the reference correctly. Instead it displays like this:
(Welter, 2015 #11696)
The reference I’m trying to add doesnt even show up in the reference section.
What does #number mean???
Is it possible to change this
Could you please help me.
The format of your citations are known as “temporary citations” and appear when Endnote’s “Instant Formatting” is turned off (intentionally or accidentally). The temporary citations display just the author name, year, and Endnote record number .
To turn on Instant formatting go to the Endnote X7 section in the MS Word ribbon just below the “Categorize References” click the pull down menu to select “Instant Formatting is on”. Theformatted in-text citations and references should be automatically generated but if not click the “Update Citations and Bibliography” command.
