EndNote isn't Linking to Word

I’m using Word 2011 for Mac and EndNote 4.02.  Things have been fine till now (when I need it).  Opening Word doesn’t automatically also open EndNote and EndNote will not insert a citation with the icon on the top bar.  I can copy/paste a citation, but then cannot “format citation”.  No error messages, just nothing.

I’m afraid I’m not quite clear on what you mean. Do you mean that the EndNote toolbar is present in Word but is not working? Or do you mean you are not seeing the toolbar in Word at all? If the toolbar is properly loaded into Word, you should have an EndNote X4 menu under Word’s Tools menu.
