Endnote X.0.2 and Word 2008 for Mac

I cannot get Endnote X.0.2 and Word 2008 for Mac to work together right as I would like to cite as I write.   I did follow the suggestions of making sure that the start-up files for Word had the CWYW files.   The toolbar does show up in Word (but not without displaying this error message: Word could not load this add-in program (Endnote 10 CWYW Word X)), but when clicking on the insert citation button, nothing happens.

Also in Endnote X.0.2, the “Insert Citation” and “Go to Word” buttons on in the toolbar are shadowed, not bold.

I am running the programs on  a MacBook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo.

Thanks,

Caroline

Greetings Caroline,

Unfortunately, EndNote X.0.2 is not compatible with Word 2008.  You can visit our website here- http://endnote.com/support/en_wpchart_mac.asp to view our Macintosh word processing compatibility chart.  As noted on the chart, you would need to be running EndNote version X1, or X2 to get the Cite While You Write commands to function properly within Word 2008.
