Endnote X2 bar in WORD 2003 disapeared...

Hello,

I try to solve my problem by many ways but it just won’t work. I hope you could help me a bit.

So my PC is running on VISTA, I have Endnote X2 and Office 2003. I have Word installed, then Endnote and everything was working great.

Until 1 crash, and then my endnote bar in word disapeared. Impossible to make it come back. I have try to modify the programs in the panel control, and also uninstall everything and install again ; the toolbar won’t come back…

Is somebody have an idea to help me

Thanks a lot

Ronan

UP…

Someone have a idea please ?

Did you try following the instructions in this FAQ?

http://www.endnote.com/support/faqs/CWYW/faq1.asp

Well yes.

I have tryied to repair Endnote and Word…din’t work

then I tryied manually : did the command prompt thing but I got an error

= “endote cwyw.dll” module have been upload, but DllRegisterServer has failed with error code 0x80070005 (sorry french translation)

I would contact tech support then.  Sorry.

If Word crashes and then the EndNote X1+ tools do not appear, Word is most likely set to not load the EndNote tools.  In Word 2003 you would go to “Help > About Word” and click on the “Disabled Items” button.  Then enable all of the disabled items and restart Word.

Problem solved !!!

here was the problem : copy past of a technician answer.

Please try the following to resolve the issue: NOTE: These steps involve going into the registry, which can be harmful if you don't know what you're doing, so if you don't feel comfortable with this, please call us back when you're in front of the computer and we can walk you through this. 1. Close all programs. 2. Go to Start\>All Programs\>Endnote X2\>Configure Endnote. Choose "Remove all Endnote components for me" and click Next. 2. Going into the registry is not something you normally want to do, so to be safe we're going to back up the registry before we do anything else. Go to Start\>Run and enter "regedit" and click OK. When the Registry Editor opens up, go to File\>Export. In the window that comes up, at the bottom where it says Export Range, make sure it's set to All. At the top where it says Save In, make sure it's set to Desktop. Then for filename, enter "reg backup" and click Save. 3. Now in the registry editor delete these keys: HKEY\_CLASSES\_ROOT\EndNote.WordAddin.Connect HKEY\_CLASSES\_ROOT\EndNote.WordAddin.Connect.11 HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\Software\ISI ResearchSoft\EndNote\Addin HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\Software\ISI ResearchSoft\EndNote\Cite While You Write HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins 4. Close registry editor. 5. Go to Start \> Control Panel \> Programs \> Programs and Features \> Locate EndNote \> Click Repair. 6. Start Word and see if the error message still comes up.
