following the FAQ related to macro… in endnote.com.
I use Endnote X4 and Word 2010 in windows7 via Parallels 6 (virtual machine) on Mac.
Endnote X4 has no problem…
but whenever Word 2010 is started, I always see
<The function you are attempting to run contains macros or content that requires macro language support. When this software was installed, you (or your administrator) chose not to install support for macros or controls.>
And…
<Word cannot open this document template.
(C:\User…\EndNote Cwyw.dotm>
I can see EndNote X4 menu on Word menu bar and insert citation…
If you have followed all the troubleshooting steps and still have this problem, it’s most likely because you have deselected some required components during the Word 2010 install. (did you use the custom install and choose not to install some components?)
To solve this problem, reinstall Word 2010, while following one of these two options:
do a complete install (too bulky, not very useful if you dont want all the features)
or
Under custom installation, make sure you install everything under “OFFICE SHARED FEATURES”. This is were all the office components required for macros are found. Alternatively, you can poke around and see which of the shared features you really require for endnote functionality, but that’s too much work, so i would recommend installing all the shared features.
