Anyone with this problem? This is happening for both XP and Windows 7 OS. On some PCs, it works, on some, it doesn’t, so I don’t think the problem is with the installation software, but with the configuration of the PCs. Just not sure what, and how to make the changes so that installation can be completed.

The same thing happened to me. I had PC Tools Spyware doctor running and had found that others had to disable it to get Endnote installed. The instructions to disable Spyware doctor are here: http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50618. You need to restart the computer and then the install should go through.
I also have the same problem even I installed X3 many times before. When I see mpaulus’s reply, I try to close all"Services" and software for monitoring network in Win7, such as firewall and anti-virus. Then, I can install X4 successfully.
My instalation hangs at installing cwyw, im using windows 7 ultimate and word 2007, can anyone help?
