How can I turn off pdf preview in endnote X6?

Why not add an option to complete diable the embed pdf viewer?

Not everyone like this embed pdf viewer.

It creates lots of problems, such as we can not open the pdf directly with the ability to save changes, can not use any plugins like endnoterenamer to rename the attached files and folders.

I too have this issue.  Ideally I’d just double-click on the pdf title in the main screen and it would open the file in Adobe reader.

Is this possible (without the more time-consuming right-click etc…)

Thanks,

Mark

Any updates here? Is there any plan at all to fix this? Any information would be great. As was mentioned above, not everyone wants to use the built in PDF reader, which (no offense) doesn’t have nearly the options or polish that some of the big name readers have.

Also, just want to mention I’m using EndNote X7 and stil the same issue.

+1 on this. Now I can’t save my PDF because it’s already opened by PDF preview, unless I close the the Endnote program completely. Click on another term in the library didn’t help either.

I have X7.3.1 – Windows version.  And I can open the document in acrobat pro and edit it and save it, while the preview is showing – and have no trouble?
