How to create second citation to same reference?

Hi,

I’m writing a paper and the instructions for referencing say

  • First reference: E. Lipson, The History of the Woollen and Worsted Industries (London:
    A. and C. Black, 1921), p. 65.
  • Subsequent reference: Lipson, Woollen and Worsted Industries, p. 72.

Which is OK if there’s only two occurences of the reference, but if I want to make a third
Lipson, Woollen and Worsted Industries, p. 84.
then Endnote will smoosh the two subsequent references togethor.
So what do I do in that case?

can you explain? Why would it squish/smoosh them together? Are these intext citations or footnote instructions.
