How to modify a style

I am using style ‘Chicago 16th A’.  I am citing a page number from a book in a footnote. But the citation procedure is wrong and it won’t allow me to edit.

Example:

Bob Smith Criminal Law. (New York, NY: Irwin Law, 2011). 25.

Notice the period following the closed bracket. It should be a comma , not a period. When I try to edit the text, delete the period and add the comma, it simply reformats the Note and returns the period. This is happening for all citations of books.  How do I edit this?  Something is mistaken in the citation format.

I am using Endnote X5

Thanks

Could you attach your Chicago 16th A output style file?

Thanks for your reply.  I managed to modify the style and replace the period with a comma.   Took a while, but figured it out.

Hi, would you mind to share the trick? I have tried to modify the style (AGLC), change full stop to comma after ‘ibid’ and after the bracket. Please help…
