I’m sure this is a simple fix but I can’t figure it out.
I inadvertently ‘unformatted’ all of my in-text citations. Now even the new citations I put in are in the format {Author, Date # }. Not cool! How do I reformat them to show only Author and Date?
I did, but the Endnote program requests that I log in to Endnote web, which causes all sort of other problems for me. Basically, if I enable instant formatting, I can no longer insert citations from the endnote program and endnote web takes over. All I want is to be able to have Endnote insert citations into Word and to be able to format them. That’s it.
Is there any other way to change the formatting? (Through the Endnote program itself?). I am using Endnote X2 and Word 2003.
Do you want to format from your Web library or from a local version of EndNote? Presuming you want to use a local version of EndNote - and may have accidentally switched to point to the web version, go into Preferences from the CWYW toolbar in MS Word and click the “Application” tab. You can then set your application to EndNote (vs. EndNote Web).
If this is not clear, call Tech Support - 800-336-4474 at the prompt press 4, and then select the “ResearchSoft Products” option. They are very good and will walk you through this very quickly to get you back on track.
