Could anyone help explain how I make Endnote replace the same reference with Ibid. in the citations? (not just the footnotes).

Browsing around the forums it doesn’t seem an automatic ibid. citation function is available.
Endnote: this would be a really appreciated feature, if you could work on it. Cheers. 
It would be helpful to know the names of the specific bibliographic formatting styles that require the use of Ibid. for subsequent in-text citations. My understanding is that the use of Ibid. for these styles is usually optional and the secondary choice - as with APA. I believe this is the primary reason that we have not prioritized the addition of this option to EndNote.

Jumping in here if anyone still actually requires this information 17 years later. I use Chicago 18th style and I manually use ibid in the footnotes when the writing is complete. Endnote 25 has no way to automatically use ibid, so when writing is complete and I’m manually cleaning up the footnotes and bibliography I will look for all the consecutive citations and manually change them to ibid. Find + Replace can be useful here.
I do this for shortened citations as well if Endnote / Word hasn’t formatted it correctly.
Footnotes generally need manual clean up and formatting anyway so it’s not the end of the world, but would be very nice if Endnote could recognise a consecutive citation and ibid it like it can for shortened citations.
