I abandoned using endnote a while ago because I couldn’t get it to put the brackets around the date only if I was citing a reference in text (e.g. Thompson et al. (1999) note that …).  I’m keen to try using endnote again and was wondering if this is now possible - and how?

There are no changes.  Apart from writing the Thompson et al  and inserting the {, YEAR #record number} so the author is hidden (edit citation, hide author).
