Inserting citation also filters references

I’ve just started using Endnoote X4 (Bld 6695).  I use Mac OX 10.6.6 and MS Word 2008 12.2.8 (101117) .

When I use CWYW to insert a citation, the reference liist gets filtered in some unknown way.  SOmetimes I see a few random references - sometimes about 50% of my refs.  Everytime I insert a citations I have to go back to Endnote and use References: Show All References.

What causes this? How can I avoid it?

Are you using the most up-to-date version (4.0.2 I think?)  I am not familiar with the build numbers for the Mac version, so I can’t tell.
