Hi

How can one make sure that imports from arXiv are correctly labelled by default?

Now the reference type from arxiv is “web page” but obviously should be manuscript or pre-print. The latter is not even an option in EndNote.

and, since now all imported items (via EN 1click) are mislabelled:
How can one mass edit all these references to make them the correct typ, i.e. change "reference type from “web page” to “manuscript”.

I suspect I would classify it as an electronic journal I don’t believe you can do a global edit on ref type using the change move edit command. You can sort them by record number (so if they weree imported at the same time, they will be grouped) and then move thru each one. If you wnat a ref type called preprint, you will need to create one, and remember that any new ref types are only on the computer they were created on, unless you download the ref type table and import it onto the other computers with endnote installed. .

the first I can’t help you with (see other post), since I would need more Information about what you are doing.
You can re-label several references in EndNote. Make a new folder in EndNote and put all the references in there you want to re-label (otherwise it re-labels all references in the whole library). For the following you need to be in this folder and see the references displayed in the reference list view. Then you go to the tab “Library”. There you choose “Find and Replace”. A new Window opens. In this window you choose In: “Reference Type”. In the other two fields you can search for “web page” and replace it with “manuscript”.
