Manually moving Endnote database to new computer

I need to move an Endnote database off of a remote computer to my desktop computer. There are several constraining circumstances that make this necessary.

Due to access and personnel issues, Endnote cannot be installed on the computer where the database files are held. They were saved here through a different networked computer that is no longer accessible by a user that is no longer active. I do not know what Endnote version the database was saved with. I am using

Sync is not an option. Sharing from the computer where the files are held is not an option. Accessing the files and transferring them is an option.

I am unable to compress the files. This has something to do with text characters used in the PDFs, according to the error message.

If I figure out how to move the files, how do I then figure out how to open them with my copy of Endnote?

Thank you.

You just need to see if you can move the library.DATA folder and ideally the library.enl file (those two need to be saved in the same folder (do not put the enl file into the .DATA folder)-- Is it too large for the medium you want to move it with? Are they be networked so you can copy or move it computer to computer?
