numbering in tables

Hello,

I’m writing an article in word. I’v mad 2 tables on 1 page. I start writing on the upper left corners, to the left corner below. I continue at the right table, from the upper corner right to below.

I want the referces numbered from left table to the right table. But when I continue at the right, it starts again with 1 (because this references is above 2 in the left table). Is it possible to continue the numbering, and if so, how should I do this?

I would try making the tables sequential on the page, but then creating a section and making the section two columns, so it looks the way you want, but it is linear for endnote.  Would that work?

Instead of making 2 textboxes, I made a table. And with the section end it works!
