For default fromatting of in text citation, the citation doesn’t duplicated after each update citation and bibliography, but for format of Author (year), the citation duplicated with each update citation and bibliography, suppose I update 10 times, it will there redundancy of author (year) ten times in main text, as shown in image below:

Make a copy of the document, then on the copy, try “Convert citations and bibliography” and select Convert to Unformatted Citations" and see if there is something funny with the curly bracketed endnote fields. Are they still fields even though unformatted? If so clean up the document by selecting all and removing field codes (using word shortcut select Ctrl+A to select all, then Ctrl+Shift+F9 (windows) or Cmd+6 (Mac), and that should get rid of any corruptions. Then try "update citations and bibliography.
