I had to change some details in a few of my references (for example, to write out the full name of a company that goes by an acronym).
However, when I update the Bibliography in my Word document (using “Format Bibliography” of CWYW toolbar), some of the changes aren’t updated. Some of the names continue to be listed the way I had them before.
I have a feeling this is something very simple that I’m missing, but I’m a new EndNote user and don’t know where to start.
Thank you in advance to anyone who might be able to help me!
That is because Endnote no longer thinks the changed “authors” are a match, and it is pulling the information from the “travelling library”. You either need to replace them with the new records (delete and reinsert) or you can Unformat the references (NOT the "remove field codes!- best make a back up first). and reformat. It should prompt you for the match to the original (now wrong) “author” and you will need to find the corrected one to insert. Or search and replace the old “author” for the corrected one, before reformating the manuscript. You will also need to reengage the CWYW from the format bibliography dialogue (third tab).
