Request for Functionalities

I’m missing two functionalities in Endnote X8 (or maybe I just didn’t find them yet):

  • Why can’t I use the “Added to Library” and “Last Updated”-fields as “copy from”-Fields in the “Change/Move/Copy Fields”-Tool? I understand that writing is not available for these fields, but copying, for example to the “Access Date” field, should be no problem?

  • A more sophisticated Find/Replace-Tool, e.g. to clear the content of a field “after the first carriage return” or “before the last semi-colon” or so. Even freeware MP3-tag editors have these functionalities, so it shouldn’t be a problem to include them in endnote?

I suspect that is because they are not user modifiable fields.  I had to beg to have the copy functionality for the Record Number, a number of years ago.  I would but these requests into the Suggestions Forum, if you would find them useful.
