When I synch between Desktop and Endnote web, Endnote web deletes all references linked to my thesis on my desktop version of Endnote. I have fixed this by not synching with Endnote web for now.
Is there a way to delete or reset the Endnote web settings to allow normal synching again?
Please supply a contact email or telephone number for support if there is no simple fix for this.
Yes, there is a way to reset the sync function, not EndNote online. So, it sounds like your most current library is in your EndNote desktop? If so, please follow these instructions,
In EndNote online, delete all references, groups and empty the trash.
In EndNote desktop, please add this to the end of your E-Mail Address in the Sync preferences: #!resetLocalSync
After pressing synch I am not getting the prompt to type in my email address again.
Opening and closing Endnote Desktop after pressing synch still reveals the extra reset code at the end of the email address.
(I have updated to version X7.2 if this makes any difference).
I tried to synch with Endnote Web again after but my entire desk top library (1000 references was lost again) nothing was transferred to web. Ended with nothing on desktop or web.
Fortunately I backed up before syching.
I was able to delete the two groups named with % signs from Endnote Web that I wasn’t able to do earlier in the year.
Appeared to sync ok, but got this error message / report on completion of sync. (see attachments).
Sync icon with a white cross on red background (bottom right of icon) has also appeared under ‘all references’ on the top left of the desktop version main screen.
