Same author & year, but different section

I need to cite a chapter of a book AND the whole book. At the end of the document, the reader can rightly see that there are two different references:

Taylor, L. (1983). Foreign Assets and Balance of Payments. Structuralist Macroeconomics. Applicable Models for the Third World. New York, Inc. Publishers.

Taylor, L. (1983). Structuralist Macroeconomics. Applicable Models for the Third World. New York, Inc. Publishers.

However, in the main text, both references appear as (Taylor, 1983)!!!. Could you tell me how to make Endnote acknowledge the difference in the main text? - e.g. (“Taylor, 1983, a”) and “(Taylor, 1983, b”)?

It might be that you set-up your chapter reference using EndNote’s “Book” Reference Type.  Change the reference type to “Book Section” instead. Now check your in-text citations to see if they’ve updated to reflect: Taylor (1983a) and Taylor (1983b).  If the citations do not reflect these changes, you may need to use the "Update Citations and Bibliography"option.  If this does not work, then remove the in-text citation and re-insert them.

Also, what style are you using and does it define how to handle “ambiguous citations”?  If you aren’t sure how to check, attach it your message here.
