Sort not working in X2 on Mac

I’ve set up the sort for my library as by Author first and then by year second. I’m assuming the Author sort is by first author only, but things are not correct. After running this sort, say for author X, I have a list that goes something like this: X 1993, X 2004, X 1992.

Any ideas how to fix this?

You want to change that first field to First Author, not just Author, which first uses the remaining Authors and then year, to sort by.
