Spanish last names

In Spanish full names, there are two last names, but in academic citations, generally the first one is used. For example “Manuel Macario Diéguez Lara” would in most styles be cited as “Diéguez, M. M.” (although possibly in other styles, the second last name would be used, perhaps as an initial only). In any case, is there any way to enter the full name into the author or editor field (i.e., with two last names) and have EndNote use only the first one in citations and bibliography for a given style?

What I’m planning to do for now is to enter the full names into the Notes field, and remove the second last name from everyone in the author field; that will satisfy my immediate needs.
