"There are no references selected in the frontmost EndNote library"

OS X 10.5.5, Word 12.1.0, EndNote X2.

Selecting a reference in EndNote and clicking “Insert selected citation(s)” in Word through CWYW brings up that error message.

What makes this error truly frustrating is that I had successfully been entering references into this Word document just last night; in fact, nothing had been changed/closed between then and the error message now.

Me too had the same problem, but I found the solution.

I hope you have saved the endnote library as a “save as package”, open your endnote library save as new copy but don’t save as “save as package”. Ofcourse it creates two files, but it solves the problem of additing reference to word.
