Transferring EndNote X2 library to EndNote 7

I would like to import a colleague’s EndNote X2 library into EndNote 7. I have received files in .enl format, in text format, and in XML format, but none of them seem to be acceptable to EndNote 7. Does anyone know how I can get this library into EndNote 7?
