two bibliographies for one document

I am on Endnote 8 (yes I know that is ancient!).  I would like to have two bibliographies in one document.  One to contain normal books, journal articles etc and the other to contain original source documents from the medieval period.

At the moment the only way I can think to do it is to wait until the entire thesis is finished, remove the field codes and then manually move the relevant document listings into a group.  I assume though that there must be a better way?  I have had a play with “subject bibliographies” but I don’t think this will do what I want.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

Have you considered categorizing the reference types through numerical coding to control their appearance in the biliography? See this FAQ the University of Queensland:  http://www.library.uq.edu.au/faqs/endnote/categorise_bibliography.html

Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for.  I have tried it out and it works perfectly.
