Using Cite while you write with endnote web

Im using Endnote web 3.1, which claims cite while you write compatability. I have downloaded the plug-in, but when I try to use it in Word I get an error message that a copy Endnote X4.0.2 could not launch Error -10841. Do I have to have endnote X4 to use cite while you write? I have a fully updated Mac OSX. Furthermore the update for 3.1 is only available for Windows (as an .exe). I’d just like to use the features it claims are available. Can anyone help??

Greetings,

The following FAQ will walk you through toggling the Cite While You Write commands, so that they are linked to EndNote Web and not the desktop version of EndNote:

**NOTE**  In Step 4, instead of choosing “EndNote”, you will want to select “EndNote Web”.

Please let me know if this works for you.  If you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch with us again.
