Caret Versatility & Legal Citations

As far as I know, the Caret (^) can only be used in the “Pages” and “Editor” fields. I kindly suggest expanding it’s use to the “Sections” field, to facilitate “§§”, as citing statutes often times involves more than one section or a range of sections.

E.g.:

Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980. 42 U.S.C. §§ 9601–9675 (2000);

National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. 42 U.S.C. § 4332 (2010).

Furthermore, it would be of great benefit if Thompson Reuters further developed the section dealing with legal citation in EndNote (i.e., Statutes, Bills, Cases, Legal Rule or Regulations, etc.); perhaps borrowing the well established standard of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, published by the Havard Law Review Association.

Thanks!
