Citation can't be corrected?

I noticed a citation with an incorrectly formatted title, so I corrected the file in Endnotes. Now, it looks fine in the edit window, it looks fine when I use CTL-K, BUT when I update the bibliography, the OLD, incorrect citation still shows up. I have closed the file, the document, and my computer in hopes that something will take, but no…still showing the phantom citation. In fact, it even shows up in a brand new document as a brand new reference. What am I missing???

Endnotes to the rescue!! A tech set up a session with me and updated the Journals Term List. He didn’t explain why it would override the citation, but it’s all fixed now!! I am curious what the term lists are useful for though.

Because the endnote output style can direct the journal terms list to use a “abbreviation” from the journal terms list instead of the record version. Journal terms lists can get all messed up if you import records with abbreviations and full titles, as they can get incoroporated into the wrong columns. I turn off the autoupdate options after cleaning up the journal terms list.
