Citing within a table

Using Endnote X2 and having difficulty generating a column of references within a table that ideally would be listed after the references per publisher’s specifications.

When I try to insert a reference, I get the message “Please move the insert point outside of the reference list.” I’ve tried moving the table up in the text to before the references section, but I can’t seem to convince endnote that this is text.  It shows up with the shading across all text as if it’s part of the bibliography.

Please help.

After moving it outside the “references list”, the easiest way to get rid of that, might be try selecting the table and remove field codes (with the handy dandy ctrl+shift +F9 in the windows version of Word.) 

Then format paper and any corruption in the references themselves should be cleaned up.

P.S.  - ON A COPY AND AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO FORMATED ENDNOT REFERENCES IN IT ALREADY!
