EndNote Web Upgrade problem

Hi,

I’m using EN Web since X4 but registered my Web-Account via institutional login on Web of Knowledge. When using X4 I was able to transfer references without difficulty. Since the X5 update, Endnote is constantly asking to upgrade my Web-Account when I open the program. The problem is, every time I’m trying to do this, EndNote tells me:

“The page you are viewing is not a valid EndNote Web registration page. …” I entered the following URL which is my login start page: http://www.myendnoteweb.com/EndNoteWeb.html.

I also tried with the default (http://www.myendnoteweb.com:80/) but that doesn’t work either.

BTW when I click on transfer under the EndNote Web group pane, EndNote shows me the correct dialogue but doesn’t do the actual transfer (same message as above pops up).

What to do? Thanks in advance!

Re: Error message when transferring references to EndNote Web

If the message relates to updating her account, likely she is using X5 and has the file attachments option checked for Transfer. If she hasn’t activated her EndNote Web account with her X5 license, she won’t have file attachment support yet in EndNote Web. She just has to go into her X5 Preferences, select EndNote Web, and click the “Activate” button to upgrade the account.

Thanks but I clicked on the “Activate” button and then the error message regarding the supposedly invalid URL appears.

The URL can’t be wrong because I can transfer without file attachments.

I think the PDF transfer only works with X5? – oh that is what you are using… I suggest calling Tech Support!

Yes, I’m using X5 (updated from X4). Will contact Techh Support. Anyhow, thank you!!
