a publication i downaloaded into endnote listed the surname of the author incorrectly - used the 2 initials inside of surname
i corrected this manually in Enbdnote - now when i update references both references show - the correct one AND the incorrect one
when i go to my list of references i only see the correct one NOT the incorrect one but somehow the database still has both
It is likely that you still have a citation with the old spelling and that is retained in the word document’s hidden temporary library. If you return your citations to unformated (convert to unformated not to plain!) and then update - it should find the errant citation and ask you to pick the correct one, and now you should end up with no duplicates.
I have the same problem, and the unformat/ reformat process is not working. Is there another way to clear the temporary library?
